Surgical Services Director sought for a major multisite medical center in an
award winning, high growth small city ranked by Forbes as one of the best small
metro areas for business and careers. Money Magazine describes this hot-
spot as the “Best College Town to retire,” which says it all! Find a vibrant college
town and AARP’s “dream town” in which to retire all in one. Stroll down the
main street of a redeveloped downtown, and see young cyclists in full gear,
young couples, established families, professionals, entrepreneurs and
retirees—all on the same block.

The redevelopment has brought a charming downtown replete with lamp-posts,
cobbled sidewalks and old fashioned  benches together with a new modern
Federal Courthouse and a new Civic Center. With ideal highway access and
healthy infrastructure, there is an arts district, farmers market and plenty of
festivals. Best of all, this small city offers a major comprehensive multisite
medical center, one of the best in New Mexico—if not much of the Southwestern
quarter of the U.S.

The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the operational

leadership experience in Surgical Services.  Candidate must have
demonstrated working knowledge of cost drivers and budgetary trends in order
to accurately forecast costs.  Must also possess thorough knowledge and
compliance of all external regulatory agencies and JCAHO standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clinical environment which reflects
nursing practices and standards; recruiting, retaining and providing guidance
and leadership to team members; assuring sufficient numbers of competent
